WeatherTech Racing Finishes Fourth in TUDOR at Detroit

DETROIT, (May 30, 2015) - WeatherTech Racing drivers Cooper MacNeil and Leh Keen finished fourth in GTD in today's running of the Chevrolet SportsCar Classic Presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers on Detroit's Belle Isle.

MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) had the wheel of the No. 22 WeatherTech Racing Porsche for the start of the 100-minute street race on the 2.3-mile, 13-turn island park street circuit located in the middle of the Detroit River. Starting from ninth he was able to have a strong stint in near perfect weather conditions and turn the Porsche over to Keen in fifth. Fast pit work by the No. 22 crew put Keen one position further up the field into fourth. He was able to navigate on and off again rain to bring the white and black WeatherTech Porsche home in fourth place for a strong points day.

"It was a good points day for WeatherTech Porsche," MacNeil said. "I had a pretty good stint. I was in a battle with five other cars and it was some good competitive racing. I was able to redeem myself from the qualifying effort and turn the car over to Leh in fifth. We were able to improve our championship position, so not a bad day here in Detroit."

Keen had to deal with the changing track conditions and spun when he crossed the finish line from aquaplaning.

"Cooper did a nice opening stint and made up some good ground," Keen said. "Another wild race, even wilder than last year. My guys did a great job in the pits getting me out quickly. We had a good battle going, everyone was running fast together. A real street fight. The rain would come in and go away, that made it pretty crazy. The track was changing every lap. One position better we would have been on the podium. It was a good points day."

Alex Job, team owner, had the team on the move all day.

"Cooper was able to improve our position and had a good opening run," Job said. "The team did a nice job with the pit stop and Leh was very competitive. The intermittent rain was tricky and then the car in the tire wall at the end was an element we really didn't need. A solid run on a very tricky track."

The TUDOR Series teams will take the yearly Le Mans break and rejoin the schedule at the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International Raceway, June 26-28.
